Week of April 2 = 204 miles then stop.

IMG_0255The week of April 2 was a good week for training.  I put in 204 miles in 4 days  that included a 83 mile day followed by 50 mile ride.  I was well on my way to full training mode.  Then….

April 10 training came to a stop.  I was on a 50 mile training ride when about 38 miles into it rain began.  I hit a freshly repair road area which was extremely slick in the rain and down I went.  The fortunate part of the accident was there were two people in their separate vehicles that stopped immediately, one was a bike rider, that took care of me.  Checked me over and took me and my bike to my house.

After cleaning my wounds Kye took me to my doctor.  He  determined I had a Left Shoulder AC separation.  After going to an Orthopedic Doctor the next day she determined I would not need surgery but my training would have be delayed.  She said there was a possibility I would still be able to do the ride which I have taken as “I will make the ride”.

After two weeks I am now working out on a stationary bike to start getting my legs back in shape.  It is good to be able to exercise again

I take this as just an additional challenge which is small considering what the people we are riding for go through on a daily basis.  SEE YOU ON THE ROAD.

You are amazing. Sorry to hear about the tumble, but glad to hear it was not any worse. You be careful pushing back into the training mode, and be sure to let that shoulder heal. Thoughts and prayers are with you as you take this awesome journey.
