Good news this morning. Both of my bike tires still had air in them.
Today our ride was mainly down hill, all the way to Tempe. The morning was cool which made for great riding. At times we were rolling along in excess of 20 mph.
At rest stop 1, we stopped at a great convenience store, but in a number of places around the store there were a lot of “Goathead Thorns”. Everyone was extra careful to avoid them and to check their tires before riding.
The hardest part of today’s ride as the heat. Before we reached the church, where will be staying for the next two days (tomorrow is our first rest day), the temperature had risen to 108 degrees. We just had problems drinking enough water. On the way to the church we saw our first IN-N-OUT BURGER Restaurant, so we had to stop even though we knew the heat would be going up.
So be it.
TOMORROW A REST DAY!
You’ll see a lot of “IN AND OUT” burger places in AZ!! Very popular!! You are only about 40 miles from our place there in AZ!!! Sad we aren’t there to see you go through!! Enjoy your rest day tomorrow….

I told one of the riders I should have asked for a key to you house. I bet 18 people would fit very nicely in you mansion.

Stay away from those goatheads!!! I grew up in the Texas Panhandle where those things flourished; they even shredded the old style balloon tires. You could fill the tube with a gop called “neverleak”, or do like I did and make a liner from an old tbue.
