We have a group meeting scheduled at 9:30 a.m. so we can ride as a group to the Fairview MS Achievement Center. This is where adult day care services provides services to support seniors who desire to remain in their own private homes as long as possible.
The patients all lined up and cheered as we walked into the facilities. Then we were provided some snacks as we talked to the patients, heard their stories and challenges. I was able to get a number of them to sign a MS scarf as a memorial to the day. I was really impressed and with their strength and desire to fight this terrible disease.
The patients were following our daily progress and also tracked their physical exercise efforts in the form of miles so they could relate to our efforts.
This was one of the best mornings of our ride.
Then we were on our way to Dalbo, the place for the night. This was the “Adventure Bicylist Bunkhouse.
It was a great place to stay and they provided us with dinner and breakfast.
