We should have slept in today since it was such a short day, but the body clocks told us to get up around 6:00 a.m.
Although we had a leisurely breakfast and packed up our bikes slowly at 8:00 a.m. we were ready to roll. The first 2.5 miles were on the same highway 123 that we rode on yesterday. The traffic was fairly light but we were glad to turn off on a country road.
After riding about 8 miles we hit the exact route we will be riding tomorrow on day one of the Valero Ride to the River MS150 ride. Tomorrow there will be about 1600 riders riding for the same reason, Find a Cure for MS.
The day was clear and it started warming up. One interesting thing about today was we had the feeling there was a couple of other riders leading us or at times following us.
I am still learning how to use my Paniers. I had to stop one time today to make some adjustments and Michael made sure it was recorded.
Since we reached New Braunfels so early in the day we procedure to a coffee shop in Gruene, Texas where we parked on the Patio and were visited by a frog. (I don’t know how the coffee was since I don’t drink it but the breakfast tacos were good.
Shortly after our second breakfast we went to Michael’s hotel and Kye arrived shortly thereafter. It was great to see her and we went to our hotel for a shower and make arrangements to the MS ride.
I can’t thank Michael enough to all his planning and hard work. Everything went like clock work and he was a great riding partner.
