We got an early start today since we were able to eat at church. I had a breakfast crescent made by the rider Chef.
The first part of the ride was on the city’s bike path. This path was along an old railroad bed. After leaving the city we had our first taste of Hwy 101 where we also saw an Oregon History sign. Then we got our first view of the Pacific Ocean. We also saw a beach volleyball tournament.
As we left town we began some heavy climbing and it continued until just before Manzanita. Here we had food for lunch which was at the 50 mile point.
As we were riding into Seaside a lady had parked her car and stood there waiting for us. She explained she has seen our Bike the US for MS jerseys. She just wanted to thank us since her daughter was suffering from MS.
This is what this ride is about.
