Today was a 45 mile ride and most of it was in highway 101 which as usual had heavy traffic with a small bike lane. We get use to cars fly by us just 6 to 8 feet from our bikes.
The best part of today’s ride happened as we were leaving the Redwood Forest where we saw 15 to 20 elk. Some eating some fighting unfortunately the pictures didn’t come out.

I know I do some stupid things in my job that make you worry, but I remember standing on a bridge with a bar separating me from traffic when a semi passed by and the rush pulled me towards the road. I asked how you deal with that and you said “Yeah, that happens.”
